New Chief Justice sought for Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts

Nomination Sought for Position of Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court

Chief Justice Dunphy of the Probate and Family Court is retiring on September 28, 2007.

Robert Mulligan, the Chief Justice for Administration and Management [CJAM] is requesting nominations and applications for this position pursuant to G.L. c. 211B, Section 5.  Chief Justice Dunphy?s successor must be appointed from current sitting justices of the Probate and Family Court.

To assist him in performing this duty, he has solicited comments from judges, court employees, attorneys and other interested persons both as to nominations, and the current functioning of the Probate and Family Court.

All correspondence and nominations should reach CJAM Mulligan by Friday, August 31, 2007.  Letters should be sent to:
