Obama on LinkedIn

September 13, 2007 By syarzhuk

I am not so fond of Barack Obama, but whoever is running his Internet campaign is brilliant. Asking an open question like this will give the 1365 people who already answered it, many more who will, and way many more who just read it, like I did, a feeling they are personal friends with him – and this is what the candidate needs.

I couldn't find Ron Paul, Hillary, Kucinich, Gravel or Romney on LinkedIn at all. To be fair, Rudy Giuliani is there, but doesn't seem to be doing much.

In talking with small business owners, this answer is the one I seem to hear to most:

Lower the burden of federal regulation, and simplify the tax code so American small business owners don't have to face the hidden tax of preparing our taxes. The best thing government can do to enable entrepreneurs to thrive is to get out of the way, streamline the processes that may be necessary, and be prepared to take in more revenue from a thriving economy!

I think the Democratic party has a reputation for the “bad at getting out of the way” part.  The process should be streamlined.  Beauraucracy is neither inherently liberal nor conservative, it just is.

He started his political career as a community organizer.  Doesn't surprise me at all to see this creative and effective use of social networking sites from his campaign.
