Calling All Bloggers for the Democratic State Convention, June 7th, in Lowell!

May 20, 2008 By agoldstein

The Massachusetts Democratic Party is pleased to invite any bloggers interested in covering the 2008 State Democratic Convention at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell this year to join us on June 7th. If you would like to cover the convention this year, please contact me at agoldstein@massdems.org with your name as well as the name of your blog, so that we can set aside press credentials for you. Credentials are limited, so please contact me as soon as possible! There will be internet access available on the premises in designated sections of the Tsongas arena. Convention staff will be able to direct you once you arrive and receive your credentials.

Thanks!

The Democratic Party has long shown support for bloggers and citizen journalism.  We’re also looking for people who might sahre their technical skills with others in the workshop sessions following the main agenda.  Please contact me at KateDonaghue@aol.com for possible opportunities to work with BlogLeft and the Communications SubCommittee.

Ryan has given a lot more detail.  Check it out.

Is there any thought to having wireless internet available throughout the venue so that delegates could have access during the convention from the floor?

I made that suggestion last year and I’d love to see some sort of wireless available.  Not sure if the Tsongas Arena is set up for that, though.

Does anyone know how easy it would be to get a temporary wireless setup? It may be too late to do this, but is it even possible, technically?

setting up a wireless network should be a snap. Routers are cheap, and not hard to configure.
