Although considering the line of presidential succession, it would be a promotion from 3rd to 2nd for Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi sharing the ticket is an idea that has been floated before. Yeah yeah, I know she represents the hands-down most liberal district in the country. It is a very diverse district, however, demographically, and I’ll bet there’s a surprising amount of diversity in the economic stratum as well.
And I know it’s all about the math – If the Dems can’t win Ohio and Pennsylvania with Candidate Obama, but now red states like Louisiana, South Carolina, Idaho are on the table, what VP candidate is going to give the Dems the best shot with all the Electoral College calculus done out?
And I guess why would you take a Pelosi over HRC anyway? Would it be merely an appeasement for voters who wanted to see a woman in the White House? It keeps Bill Clinton out of the White House, if that’s something that’s important to you. You could spin the outsider/anti-establishment argument either way with a Pelosi nod. At the end of the day, I think most people would agree that HRC is still more “qualified” to be VP than Pelosi. My visceral feeling is that Pelosi would jive more than HRC with the Obama campaigns’s change motif.
Just throwin it up against the wall and seeing what sticks.

mainly because she gave up the fight against Bush before it could even begin. She has been a weak figure where it counts, and I think she is partly responsible for Congress’ low approval ratings. She has been one of Bush-Cheney’s chief enablers since 2006, and has assisted in the corruption of the Constitutional system of checks and balances. She would be a terrible choice for VP, in my humble opinion, and I actually hope that she loses her congressional seat to a more courageous and progressive figure such as Cindy Sheehan, who is still planning to challenge her in the general election as an independent.

p>Ain’t gonna happen, but I’d love it. I can see the San Fran Values ads now run all through the midwest.
