John Kerry endorses Ken Donnelly

August 28, 2008 By Pablo

“For 35 years Ken Donnelly has been a tireless advocate on behalf of the labor community and working families. He understands the tough issues facing our state today. We need his tenacious, decisive and progressive leadership. I am proud to support the candidacy of this champion of working families. Ken Donnelly will lead the charge to improve the school system to prepare our children for the new economy, create alternative energy sources, and stabilize our state’s economy to ensure a sustainable quality of life for the constituents of the 4th Middlesex,” said John Kerry

“I am so honored to have the support of Senator Kerry. I know that with his help and support we will win this campaign and we will go to the State House and make a difference,” said Ken Donnelly. “John Kerry is widely recognized as a world leader and diplomat. He has served the people of this Commonwealth with distinction for years and I am proud to call him my Senator.”

Ken Donnelly is the Chief Financial Officer of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts. Over the past 35 years, he has served in every capacity as a firefighter. From leading the charge, rushing into burning buildings to fighting for social and economic justice on the forefront of union lines, Ken has experienced every challenge a public servant can face, and he has been successful at every level. Ken also serves on the appointed PERAC board, overseeing the State’s Public Retirement Systems.

Ken Donnelly lives in Arlington with Judy his wife of 37 years. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

I can relate to that because when I came out of “the mothballs of motherhood” and got involved, while I knew a lot about child welfare and access to justice, I had to learn who the selectmen were, what Town Meeting was [having been raised in Michigan] etc…

    <

p>So Ken Donnelly is very well known on the state level – and is now doing the real work of making himself known and knowable one voter at a time on the 4th Middlesex District.

    <

p>The Donnelly campaign is sure democracy in action with plenty of shoe leather – Ken opened an office in Burlington and has been supporting, attending, and meeting with folk all over the district, by the way.

    <

p>Thanks for posting this, Pablo.  I haven’t been monitoring Kerry’s website.

Donnelly has the support of one US senator.
Hurd has the support of ONLY one Arlington selectman.

      <

p>People in the know statewide, and locally, seem to be making the same choice.  DONNELLY!
