Let’s Buy John McCain a Keyboard He Can Use

September 14, 2008 By david-white

According to the Boston Globe today the Obama campaign has been taking some heat from conservative bloggers over a recent ad pointing out John McCain is, shall we say, not cyber-savvy. NOT FAIR they cry, he was injured in prison, and can’t extend his arms.

But there’s good news for Senator McCain and his quest to greet the 20th century. Any number of adaptive devices can help him achieve the computer facilities of any five-year old.

There are dozens of accessibility technology products which will help him in this quest. I would be willing to donate $1 to help the Senator get on line.

And you?

but there are numerous aides to make computer use possible (if sometimes a bit tedious).  but if he can use a pen, i’d recommend a tablet pc.  you “write” with a stylus directly on a screen.  it’s great.

It is vital to national security that the President be able to type.

Maybe he can type, but can he write a check? (to charity)

      <

p>Maybe it’s not his lack of charity; he just doesn’t know how to use a pen.

Even the daily commute on Amtrack is over $70 a day. Biden is nearly the poorest Senator.

p>John McCain, formerly of Straight Talk Express, now the recipient of the dishonorable Washington Post Fact-Checker Four Pinnochio Award for not just spinning, not just lying, but delivering a Whopper of a lie.

A McCain keyboard would consist of four buttons, one a right arrow, and the letters O, P, W.

Cindy McCain’s half sister?  You know, the one who didn’t inherit her father’s multi-million dollar company?  Dear old dad was kind enough to give her $10,000 when he died.  Wonder what Mrs. McCain has done to help her out over the years?

[George Obama] said that he was furious at subsequent reports that he had been abandoned by the Obama family and that he was filled with shame about living in a slum. “It seems there are people who want to destroy me and my family,” he said.

“They say I live on a dollar a month, but this is all lies by people who don’t want my brother to win.” He said that he was supported by his mother, Jael, who now lives in the US, and by a cousin in Huruma.

But reports surfaced in the past few days, springing from an Italian Vanity Fair article saying George Obama is living in a shack and “earning less than a dollar a day.”

      The reports left him angry.

“I was brought up well. I live well even now,” he said. “The magazines, they have exaggerated everything.

“I think I kind of like it here. There are some challenges, but maybe it is just like where you come from, there are the same challenges,” Obama said.

My impression of that ad, on reflection, is a huge tactical error for the Obama campaign.  Certainly trying to make the point of making fun of McCain for not being cyber savvy, and out of touch with current society.  But,

    <

p>do you know exactly how many senior citizens aren’t clicking and clacking their way through the day?

    <

p>Never thought making fun of senior citizens was exactly an effective campaign strategy (some may describe it as suicidal).  I’d pull that ad pretty quick myself.

    p>Just my 2 cents…
