Ward 3 – two precincts, South End (3-7) to SCD by 71-29, DW carries Chinatown 58-42.
Ward 4: SCD strongest in the South End precincts — 75% in prec 1, 60+ precincts 2-5. A little closer in the Fenway, with DW winning small precincts near the MFA.
Ward 5: Bay Village (5-1) is closest at 61-39 for SCD, Back Bay a romp as SCD hits 85.6 percent in 5-8, slightly less in others.
Ward 8: small South End/Roxbury ward, SCD takes one precinct (8-2), DW romps in the others.
Ward 9: : South End/Lower Roxbury, SCD carries the Mass Ave precincts in Ward 9 (1-2), DW takes the other three by 2-1+.
Ward 10: Mission Hill, mixed bag, DW runs strongly in Mission Park and several other precincts, SCD takes 6 of 9 in all.
Ward 11: DW wins big in Highland Park, first 3 precincts, 4 and 5 also go to DW but close, SCD takes precincts 6-10, including Forest Hills, mostly by 70+ percent.
Ward 12: Roxbury – big DW win in all 9 precincts, but SCD numbers higher than 2006. Gets as much as 26% in one precinct. Wasn’t close to that last time.
Ward 14 : Roxbury/Dorchester (Blue Hill Ave) Same as 12, big DW precincts with SCD in single digits in 14-11. SCD tops out at 22% in one precinct.
Ward 19: JP Centre/Pond/Hills. All SCD on home turf 65-81%. Turnout hits 33 percent on Moss Hill (19-2) and Curtis Hall/Monument (19-8).
In short, SCD got out her base vote in JP, continued to run strong in Wards 4-5. Held her own or better in Mission Hill and increased her numbers in Roxbury, the latter of which may have provided her margin of victory.
Interestingly, only 8 precincts changed hands from two years ago, many of them smaller precincts — 3 went from DW to SCD, 3 went from SCD to DW (Mission Park and two Ward 11 precincts), and two precincts in the Fenway went from a tie to DW.
