The North Shore grassroots Obama-Biden Appreciation Reception in Peabody was a wonderful event. Participants shared stories about their campaign experiences. Grassroots coordinators Mary Ellen Palermo of Lynn and Noreen Hazelton of Peabody were recognized. Democratic National Convention Obama delegate Marianne Rutter spoke of the tremendous efforts of volunteers and the work yet to be done.
Former diplomat Josef Leary commended those in attendance and all for their efforts at making the victory possible. Leary also noted that there is a run-off election in Georgia for the U.S. Senate seat. Leary said that our support could help put another Democrat in Barack Obama’s column if Jim Martin can oust Republican Saxby Chambliss on December 2nd.
On to the inauguration!
