With a bow to my good friend “Striker 57”, who posted two mayoral endorsements for AG Coakley the other day, I offer the following release from Capuano land:
Twenty Mayors Endorse Mike Capuano for U.S. Senate
Mayors from every corner of the Commonwealth have voiced their strong support of Mike Capuano in his campaign for the U.S. Senate. The mayors cited Congressman Capuano’s dedication to constituent services and his intimate knowledge of local issues as reasons for their endorsement.

I didn’t see howardjp’s good buddy Mayor Menino on this list. I support Congressman Capuano, but I am surprised by the breadth of his support by the members of the Ward 19 (Jamaica Plain and Roslindale) Democratic Committee in Boston. He has a great deal of support from both Flaherty and Menino supporters! I am fairly certain he will receive the endorsement of the Ward 19 Democratic Committee as well.
<
p>I guess he’s just that good. đŸ™‚

As for my “buddy”, I think he has other things occupying him right now, and best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.
<
p>For the record, I dont think the Congressman took a position in the mayor’s race, although his office has worked successfully with the City for years. That said, I noted a few weeks ago the profusion of Menino, Flaherty and Yoon people on Cap’s Facebook page (it just shows all of us that alliances are forever changing ….). People in Boston know him, like him, and will, for the most part, support him, I believe.

And if you go the Video Wall on the Capuano website you can find dozens of individual activists telling you why we like Mike. I do a pretty good job of teling the story of the Ward 15 endorsement the night before, I think. (She said modestly.)
<
p>I think the site is really good by the way. I just got back from a trip to friends and family in the hill towns of Western Mass, and they really liked the range of people on that Video Wall.

was the mayor of Somerville, and gets what our cities and towns are faced with is a powerful inducement to vote for him. What’s Scott Brown have to offer? The power of “no?”
