Democrat Michael McGee Kicks Off 2010 With Service Event At Paraclete Foundation

January 29, 2010 By mikemcgee

“A priority for this campaign is to bring everyone in our neighborhood together to achieve a common goal of serving the community. I am inspired by the volunteers who spent their Saturday helping the Paraclete, an afterschool program that helps our youth achieve their academic goals every day.

Being an elected representative requires a commitment to serve the community. This is a simple and obvious notion, but it is one that is sometimes overlooked. I am truly passionate about serving the community in South Boston and Dorchester. I love coaching CYO basketball down at the PAL. I look forward to steering committee meetings for the South Boston Neighborhood House Annual Event or meetings for the task force to create a South Boston Arts and Cultural Center.

As excited as I am about running for public office, I am just as excited about getting more people involved. If you are interested in lending a hand in South Boston and Dorchester and discussing ways that we all can give back to our community, please join Team McGee.”
