We are delighted to endorse Martha Coakley for Senate. She is tough and honest, a state-wide leader tested by years of real responsibility, and offers solutions that put the good of the Commonwealth first. She has taken on Wall Street, stopped deceptive practices by big banks, and won millions for Massachusetts. She has taken on President Obama on the war in Afghanistan and demanded a clearer articulation of our strategy in that war. She has taken on criminals for more than a decade as Attorney General. She favors a liberty-based approach on social issues: freedom of choice for women with respect to abortion; freedom to work without discrimination in the marketplace; and freedom to marry. The time has come for us to elect a woman to the U.S. Senate.
Republican Scott Brown is a feeble alternative who believes in an oppressive big government that transfers money from taxpayers to Wall Street and the richest, and tells people how to live their lives. Women’s access to abortion and contraception should be limited. Marriage should be restricted. The Financial Crisis Responsibility Fee to recover our money from bailed out banks is unnecessary. He puts Party over Commonwealth and has followed his Republican leaders in the state Senate 96 percent of the time since 2007; denies climate change; thinks the rule of law is an inconvenience; and believes prisoners should be tortured. He is a mouthpiece for out of state “invaders,” in his campaign’s words, surrounded by a set of cynically chosen props — truck, “independent” — that hide who he really is: a regressive Republican who wants to take us back to a divided past when clan loyalties split Massachusetts, a “devil take the hindmost” philosophy ignored the rewards that flow from shared responsibilities, and our collective prosperity was far less.
Third party candidate Joe Kennedy? Well, we don’t really know what to say about him.

He was never deployed in the National Guard, nor did he know that Al Qaeda is now in Yemen and Pakistan, and only a handful remain in Afghanistan.

p>Can you prove that she ‘ordered’ her man to deck a reporter from the RW rag The Weakly Standard?
<
p>Scott Brown has no legislative accomplishments. He has no record. He is an empty suit.

but given the kiss of death, can’t you endorse Brown instead?

p>Just kidding đŸ˜‰ This is a good endorsement that succinctly makes the case for Coakley and against Brown. Very nice.

A succinct, well-supported argument illustrating why Attorney General Martha Coakley’s election to the U.S. Senate next Tuesday is critical to advancing the Commonwealth’s and the nation’s best interests. Well done, Charley, Bob, and David. After celebrating AG Coakley’s victory Tuesday evening, the challenge of persuading each of you to support Charlie Baker’s gubernatorial candidacy begins.
