Press release (no link):
Mac D’Alessandro, Democratic candidate for Congress from Massachusetts’ 9th district, submitted nearly 4,000 certified signatures to the Secretary of the Commonwealth today, officially earning a spot on the Democratic primary ballot to challenge incumbent Stephen Lynch.
“We’ve had a groundswell of support across the district,” said D’Alessandro. “As I’ve been throughout the district, meeting voters and listening to their concerns, I’ve found that they are hungry for real leadership. They want a Congressman who will fight on their behalf, work to create good-paying jobs, and stand up to special interests like health insurance companies and Wall Street; I will be that Congressman.”
The number of certified signatures the campaign submitted to the Secretary of the Commonwealth is about double the 2,000-signature requirement. Signatures were collected from voters in all twenty-one municipalities comprising the 9th Congressional district, demonstrating a strong base of support across the region.

I have demoted my post on D’Alessandro to the side bar. And just for the record, the email from the D’Alessandro campaign was time-stamped 12.49 PM. BMG: first with the news. đŸ˜‰
