I am supporting Mike Lake for State Auditor because he shares my vision for an efficiently run government. As our state and local governments struggle to meet budgets, the solution always seems to be to increase taxes and fees. To me, that’s the easy way out. There is so much waste in the way taxpayer dollars are spent. Mike’s focus and determination to run statewide energy audits gives me a feeling of confidence that he has what it takes to reduce the cost of running our government. This has positive implications for not only state and local budgets, but for reducing our dependence on oil, reducing pollution and our massive carbon footprint.
It’s a total win. How can I not join this fight?

…for what appears to be a genuine endorsement of Lake without criticizing the other candidates or trying to hedge the numbers to benefit another candidate. The images you post just appear as white space on my computer. Are they videos of Mike speaking?

p>I’ve been pondering supporting Mike for some time now. I first wanted to learn more about the other candidates. I finally had an opportunity to do so, and decided he is our best bet for selecting a state auditor who is driven by a genuine desire to reduce government waste and inefficiencies. He is also a progressive Democrat, with an interest in maintaining important services that we, as Democrats, are committed to maintain. I’m very excited about his candidacy, and hope that we can get him on the ballot tomorrow. I am asking all delegates to please take a serious and thoughtful look at Mike Lake’s potential as an outstanding State Auditor who could very well turn Massachusetts into example of how to run a government.

This is the biggest hurdle and he did it. Hurray! His campaign organization is quite impressive. He had organizers and runners on the floor speaking regularly to supporters. They pulled together a large group of supporters to march from the back of the hall to the front of the hall, signs in the air, as he was being introduced. It was inspiring and motivating. I was proud to be a part of it.

The mix of ages, etc. and the sheer length of his “river of support” was impressive…it seemed to go on and on. I also voted for Mike Lake today, and actually made up my mind to support his candidacy after all three candidates videos and presentations.

p>Mike seems to have the most proactive plans for how to manage the role of auditor. Also, I had not been aware of his father’s early death, and the fact that he had to grow up fast, and not only earn his own way but take a role more like a father than a brother to his sister. I was touched and impressed by his early acceptance of personal responsibility and the way he has “bootstrapped” himself forward.

p>Also, he has been so approachable, and down to earth to talk to, without giving any impression of seeming to feel entitled to my support, but rather intent on explaining who he is and what he wants to do as auditor as a fiduciary for the taxpayer. I found the idea of an energy audit exciting – just changing what kind of street lights in our one town saved over a million; this is not a small idea at all.
