Boston child receives life-saving organs donated by Christina Green

Christina Green organ donation saves Boston Girl

The family of Christina Taylor Green, the nine-year-old girl killed when a gunman opened fire on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords at a “Congress on Your Corner” event, has donated some of her organs, already saving another child’s life.

Some of the organs went to a little girl in Boston, CNN reported.

“It was very poignant to find out. That’s what Christina was all about,” father John Green told CNN. “It’s a blessing.”

This family is amazing.  Even after the horror of losing their beautiful, intelligent and sweet child to such ugly act, they are able to think of others.  I am in awe.

The stories of heroism and selflessness in the aftermath of the Tuscon shootings give me hope for our country.  In reality, ordinary people are better than the purveyors of fear and violence would have us believe.

    We don’t always notice them.
But, in times of tragedy, they become so clearly apparent.
Bless them all. Bless everyone, no exceptions.

Christina Green is a HERO, but to her parents she was always a hero! Organ donation is a wonderful thing! It saves many lives! On September 11, 1999, my grandmother passed away of old age. On September 11, 2001, many lives ended, but on that same day, a HERO was born!

In my first “subject” I want people to understand what I meant. Christina is a hero. G-d saved my Mom’s life, but Christina, a human girl, did what G-d did with my Mom and me. Christina most definitely did something G-d like. All I did was volunteer. Christina sadly did not have that choice. THAT’S what makes her much more of a hero than me! To be honest, I really don’t think I’m a hero. This was MY MOM! I would do anything for her! A man, who was badly and sadly disturbed, took that choice away from Christina. Christina, had things happened differently, would have had a huge positive impact in this world…..heck she DID have a huge positive impact in this world already! Maybe, things happened the way they did was because Christina was too good for this world. Someone that good, needed to go to a place that is all good!

As David Ismay famously said, the goal is to “break their will” and “turn the screws on” ordinary people. The ordinary people as the “person across the street” and the “senior on fixed income.”

The #HousingCrisis & the #ClimateCrisis must be addressed together. We can no longer let our communities, particularly black & brown communities, be displaced by speculative investors buying up properties & jacking up rent.

We could improve our solar + farming (agrivoltaics) program and IX situation :) so we can actually get MWs in the ground while keeping farmers farming for another generation. #mapoli 1000MW+ of solar in the SMART program stalled in MA.

An alarming new report on climate change raises a difficult question for Massachusetts, already ahead of most states on climate policy. Is it even possible to move faster? https://trib.al/qHy7zwc

Sabrina Shankman @shankman

On Monday, UN Sec-Gen. @antonioguterres said that in response to the dire IPCC report, developed nations should aim for net-zero by 2040. That's 10 years before MA's goal, so we asked the question: In liberal MA, is it even possible to move faster?
