Many here at BMG understand that there is no “magic bullet” to solve the challenges facing our education system. One of the overlooked components to addressing these challenges is input from the community. The Boston Teachers Union understands that community involvement and feedback is one of the many essential ingredients to improving our schools. That is why the BTU formed a Community Advisory Board (CAB), to engage various stakeholders in order to understand the needs of Boston schools and ways we can collectively improve them. The BTU leadership has done a great job puttling this group together and insuring there is a a collaboration on all levels. I am deeply grateful to have been asked to join as a retired BPS teacher, a BPS parent and a resident of Charlestown.
