I graduated in 2006 from the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, the only public high school in Cambridge. Apparently, so did suspect #1. As this awful day unfolds, we are going to be hearing a lot about these two, who they were, what they believed, what god they prayed to, and why they might have done this. I can only say, that my community that I grew up in, the diverse high school I went to, taught me and so many of my classmates values of peace, tolerance, and understanding that are so antithetical to the horrid acts of violence we have witnessed. It’s just not in our character, not in our DNA.
Two perspective I want to share confirm this.
One is from an renowned author and CRLS parent about how great our community and our high school is, in light of these events
The other is from a good friend and fellow 06 graduate Luis Vasquez, a Cambridge Chronicle commenter and city council candidate who knew the suspects better than I did. I hope these perspectives can enlighten.
