Last week there was a “violent confrontation” on Rte 28 in Quincy in which Justiniano was shot and killed by a state trooper. At the time the name of the state trooper was not released. Since then there hasn’t been anything on the Boston Globe website about the shooter.
Has anyone seen the name of the state trooper? It’s not unlikely that it has been released and that I missed it. But if I’m not mistaken and the name is still not available to the public, why?

are on the rise around here lately. Could be that we had just been lucky not to have many in the past few years- I could swear there have been five or six Massachusetts-linked police shootings in the past couple of months, including fatal and non-fatal shootings
Was this the one where somebody called for an apparent medical issue?
I saw one TV report where the family was asking for answers, but no follow up at all, otherwise.
Other than the suspicious case in Orlando recently, I don’t recall the name of a shooter, police or not, ever being withheld from the public for more than a few hours, or a day, at most.
