is that DFW will claim to support the weakest, most unelectable democrat in the race (sight unseen), he will then complain endlessly about how the election is fixed when his candidate fails in the primary, then at the last minute, he will “Decide” to vote for Gabriel Gomez as a means of fighting back against the National Democratic Machine.
Everyone at BMG will be shocked, shocked I tell you, mostly because of the Chicken Recipes.

Usually if you go into a job interview saying you don’t care what job you get or if you can actually do it, you don’t get hired for anything. Then again a hedge fund buccaneer probably doesn’t know about such plebian concerns.

He should try again for Cohasset selectman, much easier to protect his easement that way. Also the article made it seem that the only thing this room was missing was cigar smoke.
“I want to serve again. Service first was a key component of why I ran for Senate,” said Gomez, who said he would seek “a position that I have a lot of passion for.”
This position is immediately contradicted by the sort of faux cleverness with which Gomez decorated his losing campaign:
Gomez also said he regretted calling Markey “pond scum” during the heat of the campaign. … Gomez did not express regrets for the comment later on the campaign trail, telling WBUR, “If I’d really wanted to go negative, I’d have called him congressman.”
So is service honorable or not?
Apparently not to Gomez.

In the Gabriel Gomez world,
Senator: Honorable
Governor, Lt. Governor, and Treasurer: Honorable
Representative: Less than pond scum
If he were an actual functioning candidate, he might explain just why Representatives are so disreputable. He won’t, though.

Senators are also Congressman. Oh well, we dodged a bullet with this one. I suspect he will lose for whatever position he runs for in the future, though he might win a primary for one of these positions.
From the article it sounds like Brown ain’t running for anything, he likes making money too much (the almighty dollar has spared us from another Palin run too). So with Winslow for AG, Baker for Gov, that leaves Gomez with Treasurer, Auditor, or Secretary of the Commonwealth. If they want to renominate Polito and Connaughton again, that leaves him with Senate or SoC. My guess is he has the ego to go for Senate and feels a rematch with Baker heading the ticket will help him.
If Brown cared about anything other than himself he’d run for Senate to help the GOP out. Lucky for us he won’t be a factor.
