Why are you running as a Democrat in this race? Have you changed any of your Republican (Libertarian and/or Tea Party, really) views or just the label?
douglasbennett says
When did MURDER and VIOLENCE become Democrat or Republican?
seamusromney says
All you have is some dude making an unsubstantiated claim. You made it sound like you had video of tompkins intimidating someone. But all you have is an actor stating that he did.
douglasbennett says
Go visit Junior Rodriguez the owner of Moreno’s Unisex Salon at 3099 Washington Street. Then after that go talk to Rey at his shop at 3151 Washington Street. I can off other stores as well.
If have a question Mr. Romney, why don’t you come to the hearing next Tuesday September 10th at 9AM in Roxbury District Court when Tompkins has to explain for himself why he was unlawfully pulling out his badge and intimidating store owners to remove my signs and abusing his power.
In fact, why don’t you call Tompkins himself. I doubt he denies his actions. He was surveillance camera on top of the fact that dozens of witnesses have come forward.
Tompkins was appointed “Acting Sheriff” but instead he’s acting like a thug.
But like I said. Don’t be a coward

Mr. Bennet, I encourage you to take deep breaths and chill before clicking the “Submit” button.
Comments like this demean you and drive away prospective voters.
seamusromney says
Let’s see the tape.
douglasbennett says
Go to court you coward.
HR's Kevin says
Sorry Doug, whether you are right or wrong, Republican or Democrat, you are not acting like an adult. There is no way I am going to vote for you after reading this exchange.
democraticmassachusetts says
Then Tompkins is a criminal, he should be removed from his appointed position of authority, and he should thrown in jail. I live in Roxbury and this is not the first potential candidate that Tompkins has had run ins with. Tompkins cursed out 2010 Sheriff candidate Hassan Smith because he’s running too.
Tompkins is running scared of Bennett.

Are we sure that someone hasn’t hacked Mr. Bennett’s account to make him look bad? I’m having a hard time believing that anyone running for public office would behave in this fashion.

If this were some random supporter, I’d post my usual “phone home” comment.
farnkoff says
Or else the bizarre, some might say “paranoid-delusional” online behavior belongs to Bennett himself.
While engaged in a debate with a detractor, “Douglas Bennett” once took the liberty of posting my Dad’s phone number as a comment. It took me three or four weeks to find out, as I wasn’t even involved in the conversation. Really weird stuff.

that he thought I was the guy who was asking him questions in the thread, and also thought that my parents’ (listed) number was my number, and he posted it as some kind of retaliation. A rash act for someone whose powers of investigation and deduction seemingly fall somewhat short of Sherlock Holmes’.
Does Bennett have a shot in this race, I wonder? Has there been any polling?
democraticmassachusetts says
Bennett definitely has a shot. His billboards are all over the county. Tompkins is definitely scared. He was hoping for a free shot with no opposition. Crazy thing is that Tompkins is used to be a Republican also until a couple months ago according to the Boston elections department.

When republicans cut funding for programs to reduce recidivism rates, is when it became Democrat vs Republican. When republicans treat prisons as human warehouses instead of schools and work projects it became Democrat vs Republican. Mandatory sentences and other such measure that decimate communities is when it became Democrat vs Republican.
douglasbennett says
I agree with you Mike

Apparently Mr Bennett has not long been a Democrat else he would have written
The truncation of the suffix on “Democratic” has always been a dead giveaway of the Republican partisan.
How to explain the all-caps?
It was posted from a typewriter?
Peter Porcupine says
Dougie is YOURS now! BWAHAHAH…
Christopher says
There were at least a couple in the court document.
Also, it sounds like he was being unduly intimidating, but was he wrong either on the law regarding sign placement or whether he had jurisdiction to enforce?
thinkliberally says
…by the fact that after loquaciousliberal kept asking about Bennett’s party change, with no response, a brand-spanking-new account “democraticmassachusetts” was created, and this new poster’s first ever comments were in this thread. For good measure, he recommended the post.
I’m sure there’s nothing to that though.
