When John Miller won the nomination for the AG race, I checked out his Linkedin page to see who he really was:

There was a lot of info then, but the page has been made more private so you can’t see as much. But in September the page clearly showed that Miller was based in Washington, DC of all places and ran the international construction law practice of Patton Boggs. Where does Patton Boggs do its work? Close to Massachusetts, right?
No, the international work of Patton Boggs is concentrated in countries that produce a lot of fossil fuels.
Look at their Lawyers’ List here: http://www.pattonboggs.com/professionals
It appears that all the staff are in the USA except for: 2 staff in Saudi Arabia, 13 staff in United Arab Emirates, and 10 staff in Qatar.
Do we really want an attorney general that close to the energy industry?http://www.bostonherald.com/business/business_markets/2014/10/pipeline_consumer_advocates_are_gas_industry_insiders
Now we have also have a new industry front group announced Thursday, whose board includes the former DPU commissioner Gene Sullivan, and others angling for a possible Charlie Baker appointment. The ad buy is to be revealed on Monday, too close to the election to really allow people to determine how much they spent or where they got their money. Beware of Kinder Morgan and its allies trying to buy the election for both the AG and Governors’ races.

There is a big ad blitz from the pro-gas-industry people coming… probably designed to push Baker ahead of Coakley. Martha has said she does not support the huge 2 BCF pipeline that is touted in the ads produced by the industry front group. Patrick’s DPU chair supports 1 BCF a day of new gas capacity and pipeline opponents have been making the case for a half a BCF (billion cubic feet per day) of new pipeline or less as plenty of new capacity given the state’s emphasis on conservation and the new energy efficient products coming out, like light bulbs and a new kind of electric clothes dryer.
