The Chicago Tribune says it looks like Boston’s Olympic bid is foundering, and it reflects badly on Boston2024 and on the USOC.
The current impression is Boston’s bid leaders sold the USOC a bill of goods, the USOC swallowed it, no one got any public buy-in, and both parties now are trying to shove it down the throats of the local citizenry, who have demonstrated a very strong gag reflex.
Sounds about right, to me.

The bid is a really poorly executed and poorly designed idea. The flap over linking to a Nazi propaganda film also shows they are not ready for prime time. The T isn’t even ready for a cold time, let alone, prime time.
As I predicted months ago, isn’t this plan dominating the policy conversation in this state? Isn’t this all we are focused on, next to snow removal? It sucks the oxygen out of the room, and it seriously will jeopardize all the other good initiatives Marty Walsh is trying to put forward. The sooner we can move on from this, the better. At least people are waking up and paying attention, I’d much rather we move on from this fiasco even if it means enduring another year or so of debate.
Now I want to win it to shove up Chicago’s ass.
Hey Chi-Town how many unarmed people did your cops shoot today?
They shoot like a five a week.
