July 28, 2016 By David

Another day, another whole lot of walking, talking, snapping photos, and posting audio clips on SoundCloud. Most of the content will be on Twitter @bluemassgroup, or you can follow the stream here (I’m using hashtag #bmg16).

I’m amazed by how thoroughly it seems Deval Patrick has disappeared from public view since leaving office.

I heard a story this week about someone complaining Chelsea Clinton made $600K for NBC when the local median household is $34K. I said, “If she told NBC she wanted to be paid less, would salaries in Fall River go up?” I don’t doubt Chelsea’s a neoptism case, but it’s funny how people who claim to be most devoted to capitalism think the solution to poverty is socialism funded only by Democrats.

Her mother was Secretary of State at the time. That should have ruled her out for any reporting job, at least a high-profile one.

$600K might be normal for people at that level, I don’t know.

Jeff Zucker, who I believe hired Chelsea (and Luke Russert, and Ronan Farrow — see a pattern?) now works at CNN, and he just hired Corey Lewandowski, also known as Trump’s campaign manager, who got in trouble for (among other things) HITTING A REPORTER! Maybe Zucker just doesn’t like journalists.

      …though Jenna Bush does.

She did feature stories. I think (I’m not positive) that she once interviewed her mother.

I’ve been following her a bit during the DNC. She is obliterating any goodwill she might have had. Her antics are so stupid and such a huge disservice to anyone interested in building a strong Green Party.

Here’s a particularly foolish Facebook post from tonight.

If Donald Trump wins, Hillary Clinton deserves the blame because she knocked out Bernie Sanders through backstabbing & sabotage.

    Embarrassing.

      That’s just … embarrassing.

I very much enjoyed the Dan Savage rant on Jill Stein and the Green Party.

Also, I have enjoyed that their actively harmful, anti-science fear mongering on vaccines has received attention over the last few days.

If they has any degree of brains they would be doing what the UIP is trying to do, contest conservative Democrats in general elections where they would have a good shot one on one. Running for city councils and state rep in places like Cambridge where some of the “progressives” are in the pockets of developers and opposed to real affordable housing. They’d work with the MTA and run against charter advocates on school committees.

I wouldn’t agree with all of this on a policy level, but it would be a fear shakeup to the system and a smarter strategy than what they are doing. Luc Shuster is a friend and was one of the few GR electeds in this state, they didn’t lift a finger for him in any of his races for re-election but insisted he give most of his meager campaign funds to Jill Stein. She runs the party like a personality cult, it’s sad too since the merger with Rainbow was supposed to create a cross racial coalition that Boston city politics and even the states desperately needs.
