I have lost track, and for once am quite happy to let the good people of New Hampshire sort out the differences between mayors Pete and Bill and Julian.
But how many of the folks are really running for President? How many for Veep, cabinet, talk-show circuit or host?I do not doubt that Biden and Warren and Harris and Booker are playing for keeps. Not sure sure about Gillbrand, Inslee, and Klobuchar, but it’s credible.
But Gabbard? Moulton? The mayors? Come on, what’s their game?
O’Roarke might be aiming for vice president, or more likely Ag secretary. Or publicity to fuel a future Senate run, to which I say, more power to that.
Moulton is just bored, I think, and is clearly chaffing under Pelosi (whom I am sure has forgotten him). That and five bucks will get you a mocha frappuccino.
Sanders—is he running for President for real? Or just speaking truth to power? I am not knocking that, I just want to know.
Mike Dukakis would have made a hell of a transportation secretary.
It will be clearer, I think, what people are auditioning for as time goes by. No one running for a cabinet job will be too combative.
They aren’t all running for the real thing, though.
