This is a short post and my apologies for the language I am about to use, but I think democrats need to be clear. “Deplorables” was too weak. It should be: “If you support this, you’re an asshole.” Followed up by asking why none of the executives who hired them were also not arrested that day.
Please share widely!

I weep with RAGE every time I see what these MONSTERS are doing to destroy these innocent families.
fredrichlariccia says
May these EVIL BASTARDS burn in hell for eternity.

The language you suggest will become the story and a distraction. I agree that the non-arrest of employers should be questioned.

Hi Christopher,
Completely disagree. I’d agree with you if these stories stayed in our social conscious, but they do not. The story passes onto the next thing and people forget about it. If the democrats used forceful language, the story would remain in the news cycle and thus create more discussion. Everyone will forget about this by Tuesday, but it democrats spoke vociferously, then maybe it’d stay around.

George Washington stated our policy toward Trumpism (aka Fascism) best : “The US gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance.”
Screw the language and attack these evil bastards every minute of every day until we destroy every last one of them forever.
They are NOT our opponents. They are the enemy.
Christopher says
What will remain on the consciousness is those foul-mouthed Dems. I stand by my comment. If we use the language you suggest we won’t be talking about raids, but rather that we called people a**holes – mark my words. I don’t mind forceful language, but I (and I suspect many others) do mind further coarsening our rhetoric with profanity.

It’s them that did it, not me, them, them!

Now it’s frontpaged. This web site is really over the edge. When do the calls for mob violence start? You’ve already encouraged electronic violence.
Do you realize there are some mentally unsound people who participate here regularly?
Charley on the MTA says
OK, so tearing families apart, tearing babies from their mothers, and putting kids in cages is, you know, fine.
But bad language is “really over the edge”, and “encourag[ing] electronic violence” — whatever that is.
Really, take a look at yourself.
Christopher says
Fred used the word “monsters’ above – that works for me.

Commentary like this makes it harder to voice legitimate criticism. We
lose potential supporters with hyperbolic language like this (as I’ve learned from recent experience.)
betsey says
And just who are you calling “mentally unsound”?
SomervilleTom says
@ and just who …:
Heh … so far as I can tell, pretty much all of us.
fredrichlariccia says
Pukes have called me far worse than that so don’t take it personal ; rather, consider the source and laugh in their face. That drives ’em nuts. 🙂

While I agree with the sentiment you’re expressing, I actually LIKE “deplorable”.
I like it because Trumpists invariably despise Ms. Clinton and particularly remember her use of the word “deplorables” to describe them.
I think it’s far more insulting to them than “ass***”.
For everybody else, “deplorable” is plenty strong enough. I think that people more easily ignore expletives than loaded but polite words like “deplorable”.
avguardia says
Haha, deplorable does seem to bother them. But to be specific I think we need to use more forceful language tied to a specific issue & to add to it, bring in our faith when applicable.
I’d say “you are deplorable if you support the separation of children from their parents because their parents acted like St. Joseph & Mary when they fled with Jesus from violence. Any ICE agent should ask themselves if they would of ripped the baby Jesus from his mother when they were trying to find safety.”
I think comments like that would force a continuation of the issue. This video happened last week and no one is talking about it.

BINGO ! This is what making all politics local and PERSONAL means!
