NBC-Boston/NECN Meteorologist Chris Gloninger
For the first time that I can recall, a local mainstream media outlet — NBC-Boston/NECN — has posted the truth about climate change in a front-page (on the website) piece: Climate Change: Fact vs Fiction.
The piece is an accessible 3:12 piece that debunks three false claims about climate change:
1. “It’s all a natural cycle”
2. “Wouldn’t we see less snow and cold if the climate is changing?
3. “You can’t get the forecast right for tomorrow. How do you know what’s going to happen in 50 years?”
I view this as a genuine milestone in Boston-area mainstream media. I can’t think of a single time, ever, when a piece like this has been posted or broadcast. This takes real courage on the part of the editors who decided to produce and publish this piece.
Kudos to meteorologist Chris Gloninger and NBC-10/NECN for taking this courageous step forward.
