Joe Biden was endorsed today by Kentucky “Moscow Mitch” semper fidelis challenger Amy McGrath :
“Honor and integrity are at the heart of everything Marines do. It’s why I believe so strongly that Joe Biden is the president who can restore honor and integrity to the Oval Office.
Joe is the Democrat who can bring our country together, restore our reputation abroad, and bring real change to a nation torn apart by partisanship. We need that now more than ever.”

I think you meant Kentucky rather than Tennessee in your first line?
SomervilleTom says
Bah — Tennessee – Kentucky – What’s the difference?
Backward, ignorant, poverty-stricken, Republican-dominated Southern state that sucks in federal subsidies while whining about taxes that are “too high”.
No difference

As a resident of a state often on the receiving end of insults from the rest of the country I’d rather not return that particular favor.

My tongue is planted firmly in my cheek.
At the same time, I am not offended by “insults” that are based in solid truth. For example, the “insult” that I hear most often is that we are a “librul” state. I generally respond along the lines of “You are absolutely correct about that, we ARE. Not as much as I’d like, but certainly more liberal than yours.”
I’m reminded of the standard that applies to libel and slander — truth is an effective defense.
All kidding aside, is there any part of my insult that isn’t true?

As for the ones in our direction I guess I was thinking not of being called liberal, which I agree is more true of us than other states, but being called un-American or unpatriotic, especially since we started the American Revolution.

@ un-American:
Ah, yes — those venerable chestnuts. I guess I’m just immune to those, since I’ve been hearing them from ignorant bullies my entire life.
I actually relish the opportunity to face those particular complaints in the upcoming months. I’m looking forward to asking how a “true American” defends the explicit betrayal of an ally who is in the midst of a hot war against invading Russian forces. I want to ask how a “patriot” defends support for a politician who knowingly accepts illegal campaign contributions from the Russian mob directed by Vladimir Putin.
I want to ask whether Vladimir Putin is now a trusted friend and ally of America.
Indeed, this might well be an interesting campaign.
