Now comments are invisible too

February 16, 2017 By centralmassdad 2 Comments

Just an FYI.  The site really isn't working well yet.  Posts are still invisible, and now comments "await moderation" even if they do not have links in them.   Sad! … [Read more...]

What a spineless turd is Mitt Romney

December 13, 2016 By centralmassdad 8 Comments

He spends all summer criticizing Trump in the harshest possible terms, until Trump won, and then spent a month sniveling and grovelling in hopes of getting SecState. Now it turns out that Trump was literally trolling him, and is now handing … [Read more...]

Here’s a great opportunity for outreach…

November 22, 2016 By centralmassdad 32 Comments

Here is a group of Trump voters, expressing their economic insecurity and deep frustration at being forcibly compelled to listen to NPR. I would have thought that the inability to change their radio dial to "AM" would have been because of … [Read more...]

John Podesta’s email is not anti-Catholic, is not a scandal, and surrenders no “moral high ground”

October 21, 2016 By centralmassdad 33 Comments

This is response to a comment on the other thread, in which it was posited that Trump would pay no political price for his somewhat "over the line" speech at the Al Smith dinner. ("Here she is, pretending not to hate Catholics.") A speech … [Read more...]

Technical Question for Editors

October 21, 2016 By centralmassdad 10 Comments

I have a comment in reply to jimc's "skeptical" comment on the "November 9" thread, into which I put some effort.  It now shows "Comment Awaiting Moderation" and is evidently not public. I have seen this once or twice before, quite … [Read more...]

April 19, 2016 By centralmassdad 15 Comments

I found that this linked article crystallizes many of the things that made me a supporter of Sec. Clinton for the Democratic nomination. While refraining from the pure nastiness that characterizes the present phase of the campaign, the … [Read more...]

Somewhere, over the last few days, the “GOP Establishment” had a meeting…

February 25, 2016 By centralmassdad 2 Comments

And at this meeting they said, "I dunno, it's nearly Super Tuesday.  Maybe we should go after Trump now." After much grunting and straining, it was suggested "Let's go after him on his tax returns" and there was much excitement at this … [Read more...]

Was that the longest thread in the history of BMG?

September 27, 2014 By centralmassdad 6 Comments

The thread the other day made me curious about what the longest threads in the history of the site have been.  I don't think I have the tools to search that.   247 is pretty impressive. … [Read more...]

A little help, please

July 19, 2013 By centralmassdad 7 Comments

I would like to weigh in on the discussion of the Rolling Stone cover, but do not wish to do so with successfully linking to several image files. If I paste the Image URL, and select it as one does when one wants to bold text, I get … [Read more...]

June 22, 2012 By centralmassdad 8 Comments

The fact that we are about to be hit with a tidal wave of voter suppression legislation by Republican legislatures throughout the country is the most under reported story right now. The media is unequipped to cover this in clear moral terms and instead prefers to both sides it.

Woke up sick about the state, which has so badly mismanaged so much of the COVID-19 response for the entire year, insisting their judgment should be substituted for local districts when they have made it clear they both don’t know and don’t care about local conditions. #MAEdu

My unsolicited environmental recommendation of the day: this episode of "Why Is This Happening?"

The conversation between @drvolts and @chrislhayes is accessible to those who know little about the power system, and it's smart, funny and quite profound. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/powering-the-grid-with-david-roberts/id1382983397?i=1000510291170

OPINION: Despite the governor's shortcomings -- most recently, the rollout of the COVID vaccine -- none of the state's Democrats show any interest in challenging him in 2022. https://wbur.fm/3k9W2nf
