Capuano Forgets That Politics is a Team Sport

December 8, 2010 By gregr 132 Comments

This is politics 101. Don't piss on the guy who bats clean-up for your team. Mike could vote against the compromise for all I care. However, long after the tax-compromise issue is history, this dumb quote will be used by the GOP, Fox News, … [Read more...]

Gov. Patrick, Justice Stevens and November

April 7, 2010 By gregr 9 Comments

Here is a quick question that I have not seen floated anywhere - Given the notion that Deval Patrick is on the "semi short list" to be nominated to the US Supreme Court when Justice Stevens retires, who is the Democratic Party's back-up … [Read more...]

Brown’s Amateur Hour (Actually 2 months)

March 16, 2010 By gregr 19 Comments

Tonight I tried to send my Senator a quick note regarding my opinions on health policy. However I have hit a roadblock. Two months after his election and over a month since his swearing in, Senator Brown's staff has not put an email … [Read more...]

Congressional Pet Peeve

Why the Polls are Wrong

January 18, 2010 By gregr 31 Comments

It is my belief that everybody who is going to vote for Scott Brown was well motivated by the end of last week, when the latest round of polling began. I find it truly difficult to believe that there has been a huge defection of likely … [Read more...]

Brown and Abortion

January 15, 2010 By gregr Leave a Comment

It amazes me that right wingers project on to the Scott Brown this idea that he is really not pro-choice. Take this letter to my local paper:This is why I'm voting for Scott Brown for senator. He is not "pro-life," but he is believed to be … [Read more...]

Every time we hear about methane the story gets a little worse, which means the truth will be a lot worse, which is why the industry is pushing hard on natgas now. Recently they’ve taken to calling it “low carbon gas” to keep the focus on CO2. https://twitter.com/GlobalEcoGuy/status/1380914220150181897

Dr. Jonathan Foley@GlobalEcoGuy

Methane has risen by *over 150%* and is accelerating.

For reference, CO2 has risen 50%.

We need to *dramatically* reduce methane emissions to have a chance of keeping the planet below 1.5-2 C. This includes methane from animals, rice, landfills, and the energy industry. https://twitter.com/robbie_andrew/status/1380788370771750913

Methane is increasing at a rate 3 x more than CO2 and will cause 80 x more warming in the next 20 years! Our children are depending on us to act.

We need all-electric buildings
gas transition plans, and
to stop dirty energy infrustructure.

Here's what we know so far about today's unplanned gas release at the Weymouth Compressor -- which, unfortunately, isn't much.

I will update as more information becomes available #mapoli
