As you’ll recall, the rallying cry for the anti-gay marriage crowd during the constitutional convention earlier this year was not so much "we hate gays" (that might be seen as intolerant and likely to turn off moderates), but rather, "let the people vote." Now comes news that Republican state senator Scott Brown wants to limit the people’s right to override Prop. 2-1/2 to only once per year.
So I guess it’s not so much "let the people vote," as "let the people vote, but only when it’s on something that we think is a good idea, otherwise make it tough for them." How’s that for a Republican rallying cry?
