I agree with Atrios on the Michael Moore-shunning nonsense. I don’t care about Moore in particular, but it’s ridiculous to think that he’s costing us votes, any more than Bill O’Reilly costs the Republicans votes. That’s not why the good guys lost, folks.
Just put the meme down, and slowly back away.

Absofrickin’lutely!First of all, we need to stop whining about why we lost (if we did lose) the last election. And stop this piddly-ass talk about wheather Michael Moore is costing us votes. We need to articulate the core VALUES which should be dear to all Americans. For example: Taxes? Kiss my ass, Dubya. I am paying nearly $400 a month to my HMO and you can bet it’s going to go up this year when I hit 50. If we all paid a tad more in taxes to support a Canadian style national health care system maybe we wouldn’t have so many folks who are not covered. We need to dispense with this crazy notion that there are a bunch of deadbeats out there who are going to take advantage of a Federal heath care system. Folks don’t like to go to the doctor! And, by the way, doesn’t the cost of those “deadbeats” on the system come out of our pockets right now? Hey, folks: Equality and Fraternity, e pluribus unum, government for the people, to provide for the general welfare… These are some of the ideas for which our nation was founded and we need to stand up and remind everybody about them in a way that is so clear and forceful that everybody who hears us will say “That makes sense.”
