LONDON, England (AP) — Global warming isapproaching the critical point of no return, after which widespreaddrought, crop failure and rising sea-levels would be irreversible, aninternational climate change task force warned Monday…
"An ecological time-bomb is ticking away," said Stephen Byers, whoco-chaired the task force with U.S. Republican Senator Olympia Snowe,and is a close confidant of British Prime Minister Tony Blair. "Worldleaders need to recognize that climate change is the single mostimportant long term issue that the planet faces."
Time for Snowe and Blair to call in their chits with the President. And for the rest of us to wake up and make this the most important issue of the 21st Century — surely on a level with terrorism.
