You may recall that in a particularly sneaky move, the Massachusetts Republican Party bought up several internet domain names that Attorney General and likely Gov candidate Tom Reilly might want to use for a campaign for Governor (including ReillyForGovernor.com and TomReillyForGovernor.com).
Well, it turns out that there may be a way to force those crafty Republicans to cough up the websites after all. Someone tried a similar trick on Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) by registering the domain name "hillaryclinton.com" and using it for commercial purposes. But Hillary sued, and she won – the arbitrator ordered the domain name transferred to Hillary. An article about her victory is here, and the decision is here. (Hat tip: Taegan Goddard.)
So don’t take it lying down, Tom! Show those Republicans that you’ve got the gumption it takes to stand up for your rights. They registered the domain names through Network Solutions, LLC – that’s all you need to know to get this thing started.
