This post at MyDD by Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI, of McCain-Feingold fame) is worth reading. He says all the right things about letting uncompensated bloggers endorse whoever they want without worrying about campaign finance law, extending the "press exemption" to online journalists, etc. The problem, of course, is that he doesn’t get to decide what the regulations say – the Federal Election Commission writes the regs, and they did a piss-poor job on them last time. As we’ve said before, this one is well worth keeping a close eye on.
