The Globe has a story today (hat tip to our resident troll!) in which US Rep. Michael Capuano goes after Tom Reilly’s wishy-washiness on gay marriage and the death penalty, largely along the same lines as we did here.
Also, as we first noted here, Capuano is making louder and louder noises about jumping into the Gov’s race, despite his "decision" in January not to do so. Wouldn’t THAT shake things up! If Capuano runs for Gov, the whole dynamic of the Gov’s race changes. Plus, Capuano’s congressional seat would open up, setting off a free-for-all that would probably match if not exceed what we saw the last time that seat was vacant. Menino for Congress?? (I have no info, I’m just wonderin’!)

Run Mike Run. I am not impressed with the current canidates but if Capuano is running I am on board. Menino is not running he’s in Lynchs district and the 8th Congressional seat does not have enough of Boston in it for it to be worthwhile for the Mayor. I think he’s been great for the City so I want him to stay as Mayor. What about Warren Tolman for Congress.

Hmm, interesting, you mean we might have a large field in the primaries to choose from? Cool!I think that’s called something…um…trying to remember…oh yeah…democracy!Just tell him if he runs, to put up some pages on his future shiny new website about where he stands on the issues. đŸ˜‰
the-troll says
NOoooooooo Mike, no issues on web site. We may want you to win.
sam says
It not about a large field to choose from its about having a DEMOCRAT win back the govenors seat. Capuano is the canidate that can actually win the govenors seat.

Sam I am…………….in agreement

I actually don’t know too much about him, so I’m looking forward to finding out more if he does decide to run.Snarkiness is just my usual middle-of-the-week coping mechanism…

Capuano is the only Democrat who can win the Governor’s race against Mitt (or Charlie Baker). Very progressive to suit the burbs, urban street guy for the cities. Go for it Mike!
