So, the Guv’s position on abortion has never really been clear, and this time Mike Murphy opens his mouth and sticks both of Mitt’s feet right in there:

You know, at some point the Republican moderates are going to realize that the Dobsonite wing of the party has better options, and there’s really no point in pandering to them. The least you can say is that our Gov is, uh, not comfortable carrying water for their cause. And I cannot imagine that folks like Bill Frist are improving their chances with the electorate at large by scraping before the theocrats. Of course, that needs to be proven definitively by some Democratic victories.
Until then, unfortunately, we can grab the popcorn and watch Mitt’s Möbius Strip machinations.
