So, the lege is taking up Romney’s Extra Cuddly Death Penalty? tonight. Won’t pass. We’re too busy trying to keep people from being killed in the first place. Somehow that’s not cuddly enough for Our Guv.
Yawn. Wouldn’t it be great to have a real governor? You know, someone who actually cared about quality of life in the state, instead of a showboat who’s trying to push a hot-button that’s been getting steadily more luke-cold for, what, eight years now? Cripes, it didn’t even work in Virginia.

Personally I am starting to think that we should start paying him a part time salary if that is all is all he is good for. Do you think we can figure out an hourly salary for Mitty and have him punch in and out? Do you think he even knows what “punching in” means?
Well, we’re getting what we pay for with Mitt. Neither him nor Dame Healey take a salary.
All done. No need to waste time or breath on this issue in this state for a while. Back to things that might actually improve people’s lives.
And how about a round of applause for Representative O’Flaherty who led the floor debate against the Governor’s bill and mustered opposition to Romney’s “perfect” bill. Do I hear clapping?
Sorry John, No clapping here. O’Flaherty showed us his true colors by gong off to Spain during OUI debate. We in Charlestown call him “Blood on His Hands O’Flaherty”.People who read Blue Mass Group and other local progressive blogs should be very happy that Chris Schiavone will be the next state representative from Charlestown.
Well, CGG, credit where credit is due. I’m glad O’Flaherty took the stand he did, and I’ll pony up a round of applause for it. I was also pleased to read that O’Flaherty has dropped his support for the anti-gay marriage ballot question. He says it’s because he’s been “influenced by constituents.” Others may theorize that he’s worried about the Schiavone challenge and is tilting left to try to head it off, or that he wanted to change the subject from his DUI/Portugal fiasco. Frankly, I don’t really care why he’s changed his mind. I’m glad he did, and I’ll applaud him for that one too.
David, wouldn’t you agree that Chris would be a better state representative then O’Flaherty?
But didn’t you hear? Eugene O’Flaherty is skinny!
sco:I would bet that you wouldn’t last 15 seconds in the ring with him (trust me) and if you got talk-arrange a charity boxing round-i’m sure he’d comply.
That’s probably true, but I think you’re misunderstanding me. The comment was meant to make fun of McGrory’s lousy column and not O’Flaherty.
I apologize Sco; I think O’F is getting a bad rap & is foil for some terrible material. He deserves credit for defeating Romney’s capital punishment bill and he didn’t get any. Ask Martina Jackson of Mass Citizens against the death penalty about his performance, I did, and he gets nailed on Melanie’s Bill, for what? And Charlestowngayguy, Spumoni will lose & lose bad, O’F has the district sewn up, it’s over before it began & spumoni will really need mental rehabilitation like after he left the seminary disgraced.
