Still reeling from the rejection by the people’s representatives of his plea to continue torturing suspects, Bush admitted today that he approved eavesdropping without warrants on U.S. citizens. Seems to me I remember another Republican President who approved eavesdropping without warrants on U.S. citizens. He resigned in disgrace after impeachment proceedings were initiated in the House. If the Iraq war continues on its present unfortunate course and Democrats pick up a few seats in the House, the drunk driver at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (not to be confused with the drunk driver at Number One Observatory Circle) will have some explaining to do.
