Just a quick reminder about the passionate interest Second Lady Lynne Cheney has in U.S. history. She has authored no fewer than 10 books, according to her biography at the American Enterprise Institute, where she works. Examination reveals that three are children’s books, one is satiric fiction, one is a thirty-page essay, and one is described as a timeline, but credit where it is due. Strangely, however, her most valuable literary effort, Sisters (currently selling used for $199.96), “a riveting tale of women in the American frontier,” according to Amazon.com, is omitted by AEI. “Deputy Leader’s wife did a bang up job on this book, but I wonder why it had all that sex in it. Conservatives don’t do those things she wrote about–it’s sinful. And the part about the women having sex with each other was just pure fantasy. Everyone knows women can’t do that. They don’t have ‘little soldiers,'” wrote one Amazon reviewer. A complete copy of the book, as well as a web page of highlights, is available at WhiteHouse.org. History as Lynne Cheney sees it.
