One of the new, fabulously cool features on our new site is the Events Calendar, which you should see on the left sidebar. I’m hoping that if you know about a candidate forum, a fundraiser, a speech that folks might be interested in, or whatever, you will add it to the calendar. Just click on the appropriate day and follow the directions. You don’t even need to sign in for this one – anyone can post events.
Please share widely!

I wanted to post some events on the Massachusetts political calendar – the special election primaries and generals, delegate caucuses, state convention, state primary, voter registration deadlines, and so on – but I was stymied on the first one. Apparently the calendar is configured to disallow events with no addresses. What’s the address of the state primary? đŸ™‚

I just did “Everywhere, MA”. But you’re right, it oughtn’t be a necessity.

that’s a bit of an annoying feature. I would just make stuff up. I don’t think it matters what’s there, as long as the field isn’t blank. I’ll see what we can do about making that a little easier to use.

Is there any way to have repeating events? For, say, Drinking Liberally chapters that some of us are in charge of? I can’t insert it every week. đŸ™‚

but at the moment, I think the answer is no. I will ask whether that’s a feature that could be added.

What I’d love to see is a shared Massachusetts lefty blog calendar.

I’m already trying to keep up to date posting events on http://jessegordon.org/

anyone can post events here, they don’t even have to be registered users. A shared lefty blogs calendar is exactly what I hope this thing will turn into!

To enter event, you no longer have to enter all the values?

I know other sites have a way to syndicated calendars… wouldn’t it be cool if we could read those like RSS feeds and put them in to YOUR calendar.

An idea I had (or saw someone post somewhere).

I thought we had a blox with the recent calendar entries… what happened to that?
soapblox says
from somewhere else. That wasn’t from SoapBlox. We’ve currently got our Recent Events Blox in the works.

was manual – just Bob or me copying info from the calendar manually. I took it down because it was too much trouble to keep updating it. Will look forward to the automated version!
