The conference committee on the infamous budget bill has apparently reached a far-too-typical conclusion: Screw the middle-class and poor. Again. Medicaid slashed by $4.8 billion , $22.8 billion over 10 years, according to Families USA, a national health care advocacy group.

It’s not a good sign to see Congress dipping into the cookie jar of health care for the middle class and poor; but it’s relevant to us in MA because any health care reform — the Guv’s, DiMasi’s, Trav’s — depends heavily on federal Medicaid bucks.
