I think it’s good that blogosphere heavy-hitters <a
href=”http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2006_01/008019.php”>Kevin
Drum and
Josh
Marshall are connecting the dots between Republican
Abramoffism and special interests picking taxpayers’ pockets,
creating <a
href=”http://www.boston.com/business/healthcare/articles/2006/01/11/action_by_state_fails_to_fix_drug_plan_woes/”>horrendous,
incompetent, mind-bogglingly expensive and possibly deadly policy. The Republicans must truly believe that government can’t do anything right, since they try to prove it when they are in power.
But I can’t be that happy. Does it take a bunch of bloggers to point
out the absolutely freaking obvious, to the Democrats themselves?
I will now cry into my beer and console myself, knowing that at least
Howard Dean (“You can’t trust Republicans with your money”) understands.
Here is another good quote from Josh Marshall on a related topic:

As Josh points out, it’s no coincidence that the most authoritarian and secretive presidency in history is also the least competent.
