Roland Arnall, founder of Ameriquest and recently confirmed as U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands, seems to be getting as much ink as the three confirmed candidates for Governor.
This issue isn’t going away. In the next 2 weeks, a major report will be released by the Massachusetts Community and Banking Council on the rapid growth of high cost lending in the Commonwealth. It will have some startling numbers including data on high cost lending to high income Black and Latino households and on how subprime lending is a growing problem in the suburbs as well. Ameriquest is one of the leading high cost lenders in the state but they have plenty of company.
