First, it’s pretty clear that Christy is a great candidate for radio…if you know what I mean. (Actually the only time I’ve heard Christy speak has been his call-ins with Howie Carr.) Let’s just say he’s not going to be getting the voters who make quick decisions based on first impressions.
From what he said and how he said it, I’d say thereâs at least a 70% chance he’ll run as an independent. YEAH!
Also, he is one cocky guy, suggesting (as a joke–but with a very arrogant delivery) that Healy may want to run on his ticket as his LG pick. I’d expect him to pop off with a few more of those quips before the election is over.
Lastly, he really does seem to mirror Healy’s issues–pro abortion, pro income tax roll back, and pro death penalty. Gay marriage did not come up. I don’t see how he’ll be carving some moderate niche between liberal Patrick and Healy. He certainly does not offer much difference between a pro income tax Reilly and Healy. He will be pulling lots of votes from Healy.
While only touched on in the interview, as David’s recent post highlighted, Mihos is talking with former party boy Peter Blute as a possible LG running mate. Heck, I’ll float two more names, based on absolutely no facts at all: failured LG and US Senate candidate, and yet another member of the lucky sperm club, Jim Rapport; and the original Joementum candidate…former Treasure Joe Malone.
Like Mihos, both men are on the outs with the Willard/Muffy wing of the party…and yes, like Blute, both men have more dirty laundry than the first month of college living. Any other suggestions for candidates that may want to walk the plank with Mihos?
Christy is pro choice, antil death penalty, pro gay marriage, although wants it to go to ballot, and for taking down the tolls on the pike, and as Democrats we can mock him, we do so at our own expense, as the state house news poll shows, as he draws eqaully from dems and reps. Healey comes in third if Mihos is in the race, I think. She might be smart to take his offer of second, or end up back in Beverly Farms, and if Reilly is our choice, Reilly might end up second. Be Careful what you wish for.
that he is pro-death penalty.
I believe just recently CM was asked about the death penatly and his response was “I’m for it”.
He says he’s for it.
