Deb Goldberg has been conspicuously absent from the discussions going on recently and her campaign expressly declined to comment for any of the newspaper or NECN stories that have run in recent days.
What gives? Or am I reading too much into her silence? Anyone? Deb? Deb’s peeps?
Please share widely!
Deb is doing exactly what people who appreciate her candidacy hope she would be doing:
-Deb is campaigning,
-Deb is trying not to rub St. Fleurs’ nose in her own mess;
-Deb is trying not to rub Reilly’s nose in his own mess;
-Deb (unlike both St. Fleur and Reilly) is honoring her word to her supporters, fellow candidates, and friends;
-Deb (unlike Murray) isnt flexing her muscles to show everyone how she is the angriest-of-them-all (but then again, Murray convinced himself he was the front runner);
-Deb (unlike Silbert) isnt trying to stake ownership of ideas that are part of the public domain; instead, Deb is thinking.
-If you know Deb, you know she will express her opinion openly and honestly about many topics. Sometimes, like in the case of Reilly and St. Fleur, the facts speak for themselves.
Those reasons are why I decided to support Deb. Not only is she very savvy, but knowing some of her campaign staffers…she has some brilliant, experienced and highly respected people working for her. They know better than to make some of the political blunders we have seen here in the previous couple weeks from the Reilly camp. She, and her staff, seem to be making wise decisions…as is Deval Patrick’s campaign. I’ve also noticed that Deb and Deval’s camps are getting decent press despite the fact that they are not responding to this mess (of course Deval would get press anyway). Why fix it if it ain’t broke?

Good comment. I disagree that Silbert herself has done anything bad here (unlike some posters to this site on her behalf), but otherwise, I think you’re generally right. I saw her endorsement list, and it’s not too shabby. We’ll see where she ends up if she raises the dough, which I’m surprised she hasn’t done as much of.
