I”ve heard rumblings about this for a while now but it’s now official…Just heard on the radio that Congressman Richard Neal has endorsed Murray’s Lt. Governor candidacy.
have a link or a story on that? Interesting stuff, Neal has also endorsed AG Reilly, so there may be more going on here than meets the eye.

Makes sense though, Neal was the Mayor of Springfield and knows what it takes to be a Mayor in a midsized city west of 495.

You are too easy to get going. FWIW, I actally think you do a disservice to your candidate which may explain why you are spending this campaign cycle on this blog rather than in “the field”.

I do agree with Hoss in that endorsements are over blown but I guess given the choice of having them or not…I’d take them.
Art thou more relevant than a dollar? Art thou worth more than a volunteer? I hopeth so, but I dread that thou shalt ignore me after the announcement is made. Why must thou tease me with thy name, oh Endorsement? Why must thou make me feel alive when thou shant not provide me with the sustenance I want to feel? Wilt thou delivereth me from the bonds of fundraising and allow me to soar amongst the publick, freeing me from those pecuniary bonds which have enslaved me? Oh, Endorsement, I hope so….

…But alas, I fear that thou may once again let me down…

Didn’t Jim Segel win the support of most MA Congressmen when he ran for Treasurer? Murray risks creating a strong machine that he never measures up to. Even so, I’d rather have a Cong. Neal endorsement than not.
Apologies to Hoss I fear that association with the Democratic Party may not endeareth me to the voters of a Massachusettseth statewideth raceth. I fear that Mayor Murray may already have too much of an establishment identity, and that if he wants to win he would do well to distance himself from the Party rather than embraceth it even more. But what do I know, I am just an unendorsedeth bloggereth.

responding also to Slush’s post from above, yes: as I recall Segel’s campaign message was: I am trusted by people you trust, vote for me. Winner Cahill’s was: I am a treasurer, Tim for Treasurer.

In this LG’s race, Murray should take some lessons from that race and not get sucked into the bubble that is endorsements (Segel) and that is created living in a region where everyone supports you (Steve Murphy). He should break out, and may be doing so.

What’s the winning message this year?
<
p>
“Mayor Murray, executive of large city, ready for statewide”?
<
p>
“We need jobs, I’ve created 10,000, more income tax helps pay for cops and firefighters.”
<
p>
“I fought for cities and towns and want to statewide.”
<
p>
“We need a health care advocate at the highest levels”
