While there is a lull in the in the “Posting of the Baby-Cam Arrest Video” case (the restraining order against the SP is in effect till at least April 7) another case in the ever entertaining world of Worcester County law enforcement is getting some ink.
Kim Ring of the T&G reports that a Warren Police Sergeant is being investigated by the DA for allegedly threatening a fellow officer with a loaded gun! How did all this come to light? It looks like the Internet may have played a role:
Some of the allegations were brought to light when an Internet user posting under the name âTrue Blueâ on a police-related Web site sought advice. A source told the Telegram & Gazette that âTrue Blueâ is a Warren police officer.
âWhat do you do when a fellow officer points a gun to your head with one in the pipe, safety off, finger on the trigger, and the hammer back?â the posting reads.
Other officers, including one who initially used a Warren police badge as an online icon before switching to a cartoon pig, responded online. Some advised the questioner to take up the question with his superiors.
A source said the officers brought their allegations to the attention of Police Chief Glenn F. McKiel several times, but ânothing was done.â
The Internet looks to be a potent force for getting people in positions of power and authority to do the right thing when they would rather look the other way.
