The Editor of the National Review posits a contest between Willard and Virginia Sen. George Allen to be the non-McCain. The New York Times reported that scientists at the European Southern Observatory in Chile made this very same observation almost a year ago. “A reddish speck photographed near a dim and distant star last year is indeed a planet, about five times the mass of Jupiter,” the newspaper reported on 30 April 2005. “The planet, about 230 light-years from Earth in the constellation Hydra, orbits a kind of failed star known as a brown dwarf,” the piece continued. Senator McCain, I apologize for not having used your proper astronomical classification. I will do so in future. Governor Romney, we look forward to your return to earth.
