Another milestone: I believe this is the first Sunday-to-Sunday stretch in which we’ve had over 1,000 unique visitors each day including weekends. Woohoo!
Glad I could help (wink)! I’m new here, as the regulars may have noticed.

I decided to come by and start hanging out, based in part on a conversation with Sco. I got especially fired up after a recent Open Source podcast I heard where they seemed to be dissing Mass blogging, so I went looking for something to participate in. I knew there were good ones, but decided that I should chime in more. Been mostly lurking until now.
I’m curious as to what they said about Mass blogging. My impression has been that we’re doing a lot better here on the local front than many other states.

I don’t imagine there are transcripts around. And I pulled it off my Tivo podcast feature, so I don’t have a link. I’ll try to find the site and the link.

It was the one where Jerome of MyDD and someone from the other side were on.

Thanks for the tip on the site, sco–I’ve been dropping by yours too, but haven’t jumped in yet. I will! And btw: my housemate loved the name of your site.
I tracked down the audio for that broadcast. Lydon compares us to California, which is a bit disengenuous given how big California is compared to Massachusetts.

Hmm…hope that works, long link (working in preview). If not, I’ll read the manual and do it right…If you go to the radioopensource site the title to look for is: Insta-giants: Bloggers Who Bestride the Earth

Anyway, where Chris Lydon sort of dismisses MA blogging is around 6min in. It isn’t really bad–just that Jerome talks about the strength of local blogs/grassroots stuff. But Chris says California is “blogged up to the ears” but MA political process is more “traditional” still.
