According to this Boston Globe article the White House has come out against the Kennedy/Stevens amendment to kill Cape Wind.
David Garman, UnderSecretary of Energy, said provisions in the $8.7 billion Coast Guard reauthorization bill that would empower Governor Mitt Romney to block the $900 million project are “unwise” because the New England region needs new energy supplies.
I’ll tell ya, whatever side of this issue you’re on, this debate is making for some strange bedfellows.

As a Republican, I had written the White House, and asked that the President veto that section of the bill. Many other Cape Republicans are doing the same thing.

Now, it appears that they are trying to get the bill changed in Congress – even better!

and he doesn’t care where it comes from. The fact is that Texas trails only California in MW of wind energy capacity. So, it doesn’t matter if the energy production results in melting glaciers or if it boosted sales in Barry Manilow records. If it makes energy, he’s for it.
