In her posting Ms. Jean wrote:
Did I know many had serious doubts as to his mental stability, yes. Did I know Shea doesnât care who he huts if it gained him notoriety, yes. Did I know Shea has been investigated for inappropriate sexual behavior, yes… I believed when Shea called me, February 16 and asked to represent me over the cease and desist order issued by the Massachusetts State police, he had changed. It had been three years and I believed people can change. In the US Federal court case in my opinion Shea acted legally astute. This lead me to believe that Shea had changed, was no longer having difficulties with alcohol or violent outburst, I was wrong. [sic]
Meanwhile, Richard Nangle reports in today’s Worcester Telegram and Gazette that Mr. Shea is seeking to drop Ms. Jean as a client. She has a date in federal court Friday that could lead to a final resolution of her case against the State Police and the Attorney General. Nangle reports:
Mr. Shea said he removed Ms. Jean from her campaign manager post on Sunday over disagreements on strategy. Ms. Jean responded by refusing to turn over hundreds of nomination signatures the campaign had collected in recent weeks. State police visited Ms. Jeanâs Leominster home Monday night and retrieved the signature papers.
Ms. Jean disputes that she sought to withhold any signature papers.
According to today’s report, Shea is “pretty confident” that he has the required 1,000 certified signatures and that his campaign will go forward.
